Surprise

Hiatus.

It's been too long. Blogging momentum died.

Hmm... it's too long a story to share here... anyway, it's all about emotion-invoking issues and events which might not be appropriate for public reading.

So, let's move on to something else.

My colleague (a CS senior too!) brought me to this small cafe near simpang Bedok for lunch the other day. It's called "House Of Bread", a cafe which serves really nice sandwiches and pastries. He got to know this place through another colleague who's also in my church. In fact, the name of the cafe is figurative as we know "bread" in the bible refer God's word. You can pick up the Christian books/ literature on the shelf/ listen to gospel music while you are having your lunch. Isn't it cool?

It's wonderful to know of such nice cafe near my house.

After a satisfying lunch (trust me, $7.90 for soup, 2 sandwiches and coffee is so worth it), we da-bao some donuts before returning to work.

As I was paying for my share, this guy at the counter looked at me and said, "you looked very familar...".

Needless to say, I was thinking in my mind, "wah, your pick-up line very outdated leh...".

I replied, "Hmm, I don't remember you leh...".

"Are you from 圣公会?", he asked.

"Yesss..."

"Do you know xxx?"

"Yesssss..."

"Cornerstone?"

Oh ya! Now that he mentioned it. Suddenly I remembered who he is. He used to play guitar for the cell when I was there. I thought his name is Hong... something... can't remember. But I think he was in the group photo we took many years ago.

What a small world. And the most amazing thing was that he could still vaguely remember me after 12 years, which made me wonder if my appearances have not changed over the years.

Seeing him reminded me of my senior who brought me to church then. At the age of 28, she is now married with 3 adorable kids. Her husband, who's now the youth pastor of a church courted her for 7 years before they got married. I witnessed their solemnisation too. Nana-san and Meiqi, you probably know them too. :)
