As expected, after I emailed boss on some research info requested by our counterparts in U.S. , she replied to ask for more info which was not requested.
Immediately, my mind started to think... "Didn't my email address the issue of concern? Didn't I deliver what was requested." Albeit frustrated, I continued to search and compile additional info for her reference, and for her to send the info over.
If you asked me, I would agree that this is not the most efficient way of working. Someone told me that I could have sent the info directly to U.S.. She felt that boss was asking me to send to her first because she wanted to be the one "serving", although she's not the one doing it. In fact, many feel that she's like a "waitress", to put it in a crude way.
I told her that I would let boss serve, although I'm often puzzled with the way she manages stuff, honestly speaking.
To me, it doesn't matter. Since,
#1. I believe the guy in U.S would know who did the job anyway.
#2. I'm happy to be the chef in the kitchen whipping up dishes for her to serve.
#3. Being a chef is better than being a waitress?
#4. Even if no one knows who did the job, nor appreciates the effort, me know and God knows.
"Haiya, things like that no need to fight lah." I told my manager.
"Haha, ok lah. You'll be the chef under me. I'm the top chef." she said, laughing aloud.
Suddenly, I feel like I'm 长今, and she's some 尚宫娘娘. Ooo lala.. Ooo lala... lalalala... (drama soundtrack in the background).
Just kidding.
Of course, I can't match up to 长今. She's almost like the famous Proverb 31 woman* transported to ancient Korea. And me? I still have a long long way to go.
Sometimes the people I work with gets me down. So to combat negative thoughts, I need to think in another perspective, draw humor from the incident, and laugh over it.
* Proverb 31:10-31
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I'm glad that lunch today was not within Changi Business Park. Met up with JJ for lunch since nana-san told me he's working within this ulu premise. We took a cab and travelled down to tampines for some decent foodcourt lunch. Ha! Any foodcourt in tampines is better than the one in Signature, we both agree unanimously.
I'm happy for the short meet-up today... It had to be short cos I was delayed by a supposedly short discussion before I left office and needed to be back early for training in the afternoon... Nonetheless, it was a good time of catching up and laughing.
And finally, I'm now very certain that the girl whom I always find her "familar" is indeed CY's girlfriend. I often saw her on the shuttle bus, at Signature foodcourt, and in church, but have never went up to her to verify her identity. I mean, it's really silly right, to go up to her and ask,
"Hi, are you CY's gf, jxxxx?"
"Hi, I'm Yuling, a friend of JJ."
I can only imagine how paiseh and awkward both of us would feel! Hahaha!
So one of the breakthroughs today was that we were finally introduced to each other. :) Funny.
On our way back, Darren saw us and came to say hi. I was quite surprised that he waved to me! Cos I often see him in church but he didn't wave to me. This was the first time he seemed to remember who I am. Haha! Perhaps, he suddenly remembered that I was JT's cell sister when I stood beside my ex-cell leader. Muahahaha! Or maybe the person I saw in church was not him but his twin brother. I must say that up to today, I still couldn't differentiate him and his twin brother. They don't look similar. They look identical!
All in all, I met 4 churchmates today. JJ, CY's gf, Darren, and finally my training instructor, Jason, whom I only realised he is in the same church as me when he did the previous training for us. Interesting.

I'm guilty of indirectly causing a girl to fall at a shopping mall today (or rather 'yesterday' since it's now after 12am).
As it was a half-working day for us, we made plans to celebrate a colleague and an ex-colleague's birthday. My manager suggested chicken rice at Katong Shopping Centre basement and then KTV. The chicken rice there is really good! I would rank it #2, #1 still goes to the stall in Far East Plaza. Yummy.
After lunch, I bought a cup of bubble tea for KTV later. Since we have some time to pass before going in, I carried the cold cup in my hand and loitered around the mall as my colleagues shopped. When she came out, she asked me, "what did you buy?" I said, "bubble tea lor." as I lifted up my hand to show her what I've got.
Then, disaster struck. The moment I put down my hand, the cup slipped off my fingers and dropped on the floor. The cup burst and the content spilled over a large area. Gosh. I went, "Oh no. I've to mopped the floor. Where's the mop." Just then, a security guard came over with his walkie talkie and said he will send someone to clean up now. I believe he must have heard the loud 'bong' and hence came over to investigate. I was thankful for their efficiency and was quite relieved that I didn't have to mop the floor myself. Phew!
So, I picked up the bursted cup and walked to the nearest rubbish bin which was outside the mall, thinking that perhaps I could help to clear up the mess a little tiny weeny bit by throwing the cup away. When I came in, I saw a group of girls picking up some stuff that was dropped near the puddle of water. A girl seemed to be sweeping something off her skirt. Passers-by turned over to looked at them and the puddle. I walked over to my astonished colleagues who were waiting for me at a distance and asked them why the girls stood there. They said a girl slipped and fell. I was totally shocked. Gosh! I caused her fall! I was only away for less than 10 sec and within that short time, 2nd disaster struck.
I saw the girl and her friends walked off quickly and her white skirt was stained by my milk tea. Oh no, look at what I have done! I contemplated running over to say sorry, but I didn't have the courage. Aiyo, I'm such a coward.

today nana-san came to my house to see the guitar which i bought yesterday... really gotta thank chee mun who brought us to shop for guitars, tested the sound quality n bargained with the salesman. we made him walked to n fro bras besah and peninsula excelsior under the hot sun... asked him lotsa questions like, "comparing this n xxx, which do u think is better?", "do u think we need a guitar stand?", etc.
anyway, i finally bought a guitar for myself! Initially, i was deciding between a black samick @ excelsior and an ordinary guitar @ bras besah. chee mun tested both and felt that the one at bras besah was better in sound quality. honestly, i can't tell the differences between the 2, except that the black one definitely looks more chic. in my mind, i was thinking, "maybe i should go back to excelsior..." but another voice within me said, "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him."... and a familar song began to play in my head... finally, i told God, thank you for speaking to me. ok, i choose inner beauty. i struggled and thought over it for a long time of course.
here's how it looks... i'm going to 跟他培养感情 :)
Isaiah 53
1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
And who can speak of his descendants?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
11 After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied ;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

Monday evening, 8.30pm.
TV showing 《金枝欲孽》 on channel 55
me n brother watching... mother half-watching...
sister returned home n started eating her 板面 while watching with us...
As we were watching how 尔淳 (佘诗曼) tries to sabotage 玉莹 (黎姿),my sister suddenly shouted, "There's newspaper in my 板面!"
Me n brother glanced at her noodles soup briefly n decided that it was nothing important, so we fixed our eyes back to the TV again...
Sister shouted again, "And it's Indian's newspapers!" while picking out the little tiny piece out from her soup.
Brother couldn't stand it and burst out laughing. "Wah lau! Newspapers is newspapers lah, does it matter if it's Chinese, English or Indian papers?"
Sister rebuked, "Indian papers got Indian smell mah!"
Me flipped.
Brother pointed finger at her with despise, "Wah lau, you racist leh!"
All 4 of us (with mother) laughed out loud.
What happened to the noodles in the end?
After the show ended, i walked to the kitchen and saw the empty bowl. Hungry sister finished the Indian flavoured 板面.
